Blast From The Past

Osceola Rod and Gun Club Jan. 7th, 1937

Special meeting of the members of the Osceola Rod and Gun club was called to order by the president for Thursday evening at the Bank of Osceola on Jan 7 - 1937.

Meeting was called to order by President Stanley Hawkinson. About twenty members were present.

The first item of interest to the club regarding the entertainment during the dinner show of the 3rd Annual County Conservation Dinner which is to be held at the M.W.A. Hall at Osceola on Jan 19, 1937. The following were appointed on that committee:

  • V.E. Ashcroft
  • G.M. Fumm
  • Edward Crans
The committe was allowed up to $10.00 to spend for this entertainment.

Regarding the decorating of the M.W.A. Hall was taken up. L.W. Stewart was appointed chairman, all the members to act as committee and help decorate the Hall on Sunday, Jan. 17 - 1937, for the Conservation Dinner.

The officers were to look up the matter regarding a petition that was supposed to be sent to Madison regarding the transfer of our Warden, Mr. Weitz. If necessary send a petition asking that Mr. Weitz remain Polk County's Warden.

It was moved, seconded, and carried that the same officers hold office until next annuall meeting this year.

It was agreed that the club have additional membership cards printed and that every member interested in the club sell as many cards as possible.

No further business, meeting was adjourned.
