Minutes of regular meeting. Osceola, Wis., Dec. 7, 1933


Meeting was called to order by the temporary chairman. The following by-laws were adopted (as recorded on page 3 on this record book).
    The following officers were elected for the year ending in October 1934:

After some discussion about the date of the regular meeting it was left open to be decided at some later meeting.

It was decided that the Club have a rabbit hunt and two captains were appointed; John Langenbach and Stanley Hawkinson. This hunt was to be on the first Sunday in January, 1934.

There being no further business the meeting was adjourned.

BY-LAWS OF THE OSCEOLA ROD & GUN CLUB.

NAME
The name of this club shall be the Osceola Rod & Gun Club.

PURPOSE
It shall be the purpose of this club to promote, propogate, conserve, game and fish, trap shooting and rifle shooting, and the promotion of good fellowship with other sportsmen.

MEMBERSHIP
The membership of this club shall consist of such true sportsmen as may care to associate themselves together for the above purpose and who keep their annual dues paid in advance. Any person who is over the age of 14 years is elligible for membership.

OFFICERS
The officers of this club shall consist of a President, two Vice Presidents, Secretary, Treasurer, and Field Captain. These shall be elected by ballot at the annual meeting held during the month of December of each year. The Secretary shall give a five day written notice of this meeting.

OFFICERS DUTIES

  • President - Shall preside at all meetings, call special meetings when necessary, and generally supervise the affairs of the club.
  • Vice-President - Shall in the absence, resignation or death of the president, exercise the duties of that official.
  • Secretary - Shall keep all records of the club, place orders with the Commission for Fish and Game, order the necessary equipment for trap shooting, and to attend to all other clerical work. Keep an accurate record of all minutes of meetings.
  • Treasurer - Shall have charge of all funds belonging to the club and shall be responsible for their safekeeping. He shall pay all bills that have been approved by the President and Secretary. He shall also collect the dues from the members.
  • Field Captain - Shall have charge of the club grounds, shooting gallery, rifle ranges, and all equipment that is property of the club. All shooting shall be under his supervision.

    COMMITTEES
    The following committees shall be appointed by the president at the annual meeting and approved by a majority of the members present.

  • Fish Committee shall consist of not more than 3 members.
  • Game Committee shall consist of not more than 3 members.
  • Educational Committee shall consist of not more than 3 members.
  • Program Committee shall consist of not more than 3 members and the field captain.

    MEETINGS
    Meeting of the Club shall be held on the First Thursday of each month unless postponed to some later date. A special meeting shall be called by the president at the request of 3 or more members. A quorum shall consist of eight members, without which number no business may be legally transacted. A written notice shall be given at the call of any special meeting to all paid members.

    DUES
    The annual dues for membership shall be $1.00 payable in advance.

    Trap Shooting and Rifle Shooting
    Trap Shooting by-laws shall be governed by, and correspond to, those of the Amatuer Trap Shooting Association. Rifle Shooting according the National Rifle Association by-laws.


    This constitution and by-laws may be amended and altered by the vote of the majority of paid members in attendance at any regular or special meeting where at least one-half of the entire paid membership are present, providing that written notice of such change shall have been made at least 10 days prior to the meeting.
